Senior Classes

Martial Arts is for everybody! Adult classes are based on common-sense techniques from Martial Arts systems such as Karate, Judo, Ju-Jitsu, Boxing, Tae Kwon Do, Kung Fu, and more. The extensive research undertaken by Professor Steve Miranda has evolved the National Karate Academies into one of the most comprehensive and practical systems in the world today.

“I’m not in this world to live up to your expectations, and you’re not in this world to live up to mine. Just be yourself.”

- (Professor Steve Miranda)

Generally our students are not trained for competition because our classes are focused upon preparing people in self defence skills. However, should a student hold a particular interest in competition work, avenues are available for specialised training.

In National Karate Academies our students enjoy learning martial arts in a positive environment where they are able to improve their fitness, become more self-confident, and gain a better attitude towards life. We teach students as individuals, in a disciplined yet caring way. Our instructors believe in teaching students in an encouraging and mutually respective manner, unlike the old fashioned way of using constant criticism, harsh physical and psychological punishment and bullying techniques. This is not appropriate in a modern martial arts school and should not be tolerated by anyone!

Senior students range in ages from teenagers to grandparents and we take pride in our family-friendly atmosphere. Remember - just because we are caring and friendly, don't make the mistake of assuming that what we teach isn't effective! Many students over the years have worked in varying roles such as Security work, Policing and even the Military, where sound self defence skills are an asset.
